The Bunny Hill The Blues The Back Bowls
When starting your skiing journey, the most important thing to focus on is staying warm, dry, comfortable, and confident.

The best option would be anything that is water resistant, insulated, and cute. Feeling confident will make a huge impact on your stance.
As you start to advance in your skiing journey, you will have a better idea of what features are important to you.

Waterproof may be a must for you, or adjustability. Being able to sort by feature is going to help you quickly decide what is best for you.
Adventuring far and wide? Being able to layer up or down will be key to a great day. This will allow you to start early and end late, without worrying about being too hot or too cold.

Our shell kits are your best option. With our range of fabrics, fit, and features, you will find a kit that suits all of your needs.

Waterproof vs Water Resistant

WaterproofWater resistant
A fabric that has multiple layers fused to create a waterproof membrane. All GORE-TEX is 100% waterproof. A fabric that has been treated to resist water from seeping into the fabric.
Pros: Zero water or snow getting inPros: More breathable, more mobile, more comfortable. Will do great in most Colorado storms
Cons- Least breathable material, crinklyCons: Could get wet on a heavy storm day

The truth is that in Colorado, if the sun is shining, you won't need to worry about waterproof. Our snowpack is one of the driest snowpacks in the US, so even if you take some falls or relax in the snow, water resistance will do great.

If you are adventuring on the coast, in California, Oregon, or Washington, that's where Gore-Tex will thrive.

How to Stay Warm

While many think wearing as many layers as possible is the key to staying warm while skiing, they forget that skiing and riding is a sport. As you start to go downhill, your body starts to warm up, and your kit will hold in all the heat.

Pro Tip: Be bold, start cold.

When you are on your first chair up of the day, if you are slightly cold, you know you are dressed perfectly. After your first few laps, your body will warm up, and your kit will trap the heat.  And as the day progresses, it becomes warmer. Overheating on the mountain is a common problem. It can be as uncomfortable as being too cold.
